If you’ve ever owned a dog you know exactly what I’m talking about when I say “A Dog spreads happiness!”  No matter what kind of a day you’ve had, when you arrive home your dog is there eagerly waiting for you with tail wagging.

Dogs are fun loving, friendly, faithful, and always happy.  No matter how they are treated, they remain your friend for life.  It doesn’t matter what kind of day you’ve had when you come home to your dog wagging their tail and licking you all over your face, it just has to put you in a happy place.

Dogs are also heroes.  There are hundreds of stories about dogs rescuing people.  One story I just read I’m going to share with you.

It was a beautiful morning with sunny skies and a cool breeze.  A family of three boys and a dog lived near the west cost of Africa.  The husband had just returned from a morning of fishing with a boat full of fish.  

From their home, the view of the ocean was obstructed by a two-story community center.  The husband was cleaning his fish when he heard a strange noise coming from the sea, so he went to investigate.

There are two days in every week about which we should not worry.
Two days which should be kept free from fear and apprehension.

One of these days is yesterday with its mistakes and cares,
Its faults and blunders, Its aches and pains.
Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control.
All the money in the world cannot bring back yesterday.
We cannot undo a single act we performed.
We cannot erase a single word we said. Yesterday is gone.

The other day we should not worry about is tomorrow.
With its possible adversities, Its burdens,
Its large promise and poor performance.
Tomorrow is also beyond our immediate control.
Tomorrow's Sun will rise, either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds,
but it will rise.
Until it does, we have no stake in tomorrow, for it is yet unborn.
This just leaves only one day . . . Today.
Any person can fight the battles of just one day.
It is only when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternity's -
yesterday and tomorrow that we break down.
It is not the experience of today that drives people mad.
It is the remorse or bitterness for something which happened yesterday
and the dread of what tomorrow may bring.

So...

There may be times when you just flat out don’t feel like smiling, but if you push through it, there is power in your smile.  Sometimes isn’t not easy to smile, like when a loved one passes on, or you just had a fight with your spouse, or maybe your boss inappropriately yelled at you.  There are times when even the weather has an effect of whether you feel like smiling or not.  Know the power of your smile and smile anyway. 

Smiling makes you look your best.  Next time you’re walking down the street or go to a restaurant take a look around you, who is smiling and who is frowning, which one looks the best?  I’ll bet anything you say, the one that is smiling.  

The more you smile, the more positive and energetic you feel.  There was a study done, where some people were allowed to smile when rating a comic, the others were prevented from smiling.  The ones that were allowed to smile had a more positive and happy outlook of the comics, where as the ones that frowned did...

 Life can be full of demands, overwhelms, frustrations, obstacles, sadness, and of course happiness.  What is it you really want out of your life?  And just how do you get it?

The very first thing you need to do is write down your wants. You might be saying right now, “It doesn’t matter what I want, I’m never going to get it!” Well to be honest with you, with that type of attitude, you’re right, You won’t get what you want.  You have to have a positive attitude towards what you want and know that you will get it.

Now, in order to get what you want, you have to take it one small step at a time.  When I first thought about writing a book, I thought to my self, that’s just too big of a project, it will take me a life time.   Then I heard someone say, “If you want to accomplish something in your life, take it one small step at a time.  If it’s a book you want to write, just write one page a day and before you know it you will have written your book!”

So that is exactly what I started doing, writing one page a day.  Yes, there are some days that I skip, some times my creative side just doesn’t want to work, or life...
