Just what is the Golden Rule? It use to be taught in school years ago, but now days I am not sure how many people even know what it is.
Treat others like you would like to be treated! What a powerful statement! Just think, if everyone did just that, this world would be a better place to live. But, what does this have to do with an online home business?
Power of Attitude
There is a book out called, The Power of Attitude, and in it is a story about Rule #1, It is Golden. The story:
A man owned a furniture store and one day every week his son would come in and dust to earn an allowance. Every week the boy would watch his dad greet people at the door, and chat with them for hours. Their were bankers, lawyers, school teachers and even doctors. One day just before closing, the garbage collector walked in, the dad greeted him just like all the others and talked for hours. After they were done and the dad closed the door, the son asked his dad, why did you treat him like everyone else, he is just a garbage collector.
The dad sat his son down and explained to him, if I teach you anything at all in this life, the #1 rule is to live by the Golden Rule! The son asked, What do you mean, dad? The dad asked the son, when you go to school, you want to be treated like everyone else, right? The son answered well Yes!. The dad said well then, that is why you should treat everyone else the same, the Golden Rule, Treat every else just like you want to be treated.
What does this have to do with an Online Home Business?
Again you may ask, so what does this have to do with my online home business? Well, if you are not making the money that you thought you would make, maybe you should ask yourself, how do I treat my prospects? Do I treat them like I would want to be treated or just like another dollar sign?
Think about how you would like to be treated. When you call your sponsor and need to have a question answered, do they get right back to you? Are they hot on your heels now that you have joined their business? How does that make you feel, when all of a sudden they do not have the time of day for you, they are just too busy? Is that the way you treat your people?
Always think of how you feel when people do not treat you like you think you should be treated. Always remember how you have felt when people treated you different, whether it was is school or now that you have your own online home business.
Stop and Think
Stop and think, Am I treating this person like a person or like a prospect? Hopefully your answer would be like a person. Once you start thinking of prospects as people and using the Golden Rule in your business, that is when your business will explode. You will feel like a job well done! So every time you get a prospect, a person, on the phone, think of the Golden Rule, It really works.
